Configuring Chart Actions in DataBrain

Adjust chart behaviors and features to optimize your metric viewing and analysis experience.


Access Chart Actions:

  • Enter the metric card edit page.
  • Click the "Appearance & Actions" icon at the top right of the chart area.
  • Navigate to the actions tab.

  1. Chart Click Action:
    • Toggle to enable or disable. When enabled, clicking any area on the chart will navigate to a configured page.
    • Set up by choosing the "Redirect Type" and specifying the "Destination Base URL".
  2. Card Click Action:
    • Toggle to activate or deactivate. Once activated, clicking the card in the dashboard redirects to a designated page.
    • Configure by selecting the "Redirect Type", "Identifier Type", and the "Destination Base URL".
  3. Metric Filters:
    • You can add Metric Filters for each card just like "Dashboard Filters", For an in-depth guide on adding metric filters, refer to this link.
  4. Multi-Series & Group By:
    • Introduce multiple series to relevant charts by enabling the group by feature.
  5. Drill Down:
    • With multiple dimensions, enable "drill down" on the card.
    • Optionally, activate the "Cross Filter Dashboard" drill down, which adjusts the entire dashboard based on the dimensions in the selected card.
  6. Forecasting:
    • Toggle forecasting on or off.
    • DataBrain provides two forecasting models with specific trends:
      • ARIMA (options: linear, constant, constant plus linear)
      • Prophet (options: linear, flat)
    • Adjust hyperparameters as needed and save.
  7. Data Security Settings:
    • Customize metric data security:
      • Hide specific columns from the underlying data.
      • Conceal columns from the CSV data export.
  8. Group X-Axis:
    • Enable this feature to group data on the x-axis.


Note: These options may vary depending on the "Chart Type" chosen. Some options may not be available for certain chart types.
