Creating a Metric Filter in DataBrain
Metric filters refine the data displayed on your metric cards, offering a more focused analysis.
- Access Metric Filter Settings:
- Inside the metric page, click on the "Appearance and Actions" icon located at the top right of the chart area.
- Navigate to the actions tab and select metric filters.
- Initiate Filter Creation:
- Click "+ Add Filter".
- Configure Filter:
- Set the "Filter Name".
- Choose the "Filter Type" from the dropdown.
- Specify the "Datatype".
- Select the desired table and column.
- If the filter depends on another metric filter, set it in "Depend On".
- The filter can also be scoped to a specific client.
- Advanced Filter Options:
- DataBrain allows you to "apply" this filter to different table columns.
- Alternatively, save the filter as a "Variable Filter". This captures a variable's value for use in your SQL query.
- Finalize & Save:
- Once all settings are in place, click "Save".
By integrating metric filters, you can ensure a more precise and tailored data representation in DataBrain.
