Creating a Metric Filter in DataBrain

Metric filters refine the data displayed on your metric cards, offering a more focused analysis.

  1. Access Metric Filter Settings:
    • Inside the metric page, click on the "Appearance and Actions" icon located at the top right of the chart area.
    • Navigate to the actions tab and select metric filters.
  2. Initiate Filter Creation:
    • Click "+ Add Filter".
  3. Configure Filter:
    • Set the "Filter Name".
    • Choose the "Filter Type" from the dropdown.
    • Specify the "Datatype".
    • Select the desired table and column.
    • If the filter depends on another metric filter, set it in "Depend On".
    • The filter can also be scoped to a specific client.
  4. Advanced Filter Options:
    • DataBrain allows you to "apply" this filter to different table columns.
    • Alternatively, save the filter as a "Variable Filter". This captures a variable's value for use in your SQL query.
  5. Finalize & Save:
    • Once all settings are in place, click "Save".

By integrating metric filters, you can ensure a more precise and tailored data representation in DataBrain.
