The Waterfall Chart is instrumental in visually breaking down the cumulative effect of sequential values, often used to display the step-by-step journey of an initial value to its end value.

Navigation to Create/Edit a Waterfall Chart:

  1. Access the Dashboard:
    • Navigate to the dashboard where you intend to add or edit a metric card.
  2. Create or Edit a Metric Card:
    • For a new chart, click on "Create Metric" in the desired dashboard.
    • To edit an existing chart, open the metric card you wish to modify.
  3. Choose Chart Type:
    • In the metric editing interface, locate the "Chart Type" selector.
    • Select "Waterfall" from the available chart types.

Customizing the Waterfall Chart:

The "Appearance" tab offers the following customization option for the Waterfall Chart:

  • Enable Chart Zoom: This feature allows users to zoom in on specific sections of the chart, providing a closer look at individual steps in the sequence.

In addition to this appearance option, you can also set up actions for the chart under the "Actions" tab, as well as customize various aspects of the "Appearance" tab. For more detailed information on both appearance customization and setting up chart actions, please refer to Chart Appearance and Chart Actions.

The Waterfall Chart is particularly effective for understanding the progression of values over a process or time, making it an insightful visualization for financial analysis, inventory audits, and more.
