The Sankey Chart is ideal for visualizing the flow of data between different stages or entities, typically used to depict relationships and resource transfers in a network.

Navigation to Create/Edit a Sankey Chart:

  1. Access the Dashboard:
    • Navigate to the dashboard where you intend to add or edit a metric card.
  2. Create or Edit a Metric Card:
    • For a new chart, click on "Create Metric" in the desired dashboard.
    • To edit an existing chart, open the metric card you wish to modify.
  3. Choose Chart Type:
    • In the metric editing interface, locate the "Chart Type" selector.
    • Select "Sankey" from the available chart types.

Customizing the Sankey Chart:

The "Appearance" tab allows you to configure the Sankey Chart as follows:

  • Interchange the Source and Target: By default, the first dimension you select is set as the source, and the second as the target. This toggle enables you to swap their roles, providing flexibility in how the data flow is visualized.

In addition to this appearance option, you can also set up actions for the chart under the "Actions" tab, as well as customize various aspects of the "Appearance" tab. For more detailed information on both appearance customization and setting up chart actions, please refer to Chart Appearance and Chart Actions.

The Sankey Chart is particularly valuable for analyzing complex networks, such as supply chains, energy systems, or website traffic flows, providing a clear depiction of interactions and transfers within the system.
