The Histogram Chart is an efficient tool for displaying the distribution of numerical data over a continuous interval or certain time period, helping to identify patterns and understand the spread of the data.
Navigation to Create/Edit a Histogram Chart:
- Access the Dashboard:
- Navigate to the dashboard where you intend to add or edit a metric card.
- Create or Edit a Metric Card:
- For a new chart, click on "Create Metric" in the desired dashboard.
- To edit an existing chart, open the metric card you wish to modify.
- Choose Chart Type:
- In the metric editing interface, locate the "Chart Type" selector.
- Select "Histogram" from the available chart types.
Customizing the Histogram Chart:
Under the "Appearance" tab, you have the following options to customize the Histogram Chart:
- Show Bar Background: This option allows you to display a background color for the bars in the histogram, enhancing visual clarity.
- Hide 0/Null Values: Enables you to exclude bars representing zero or null values, focusing the chart on meaningful data points.
- Enable Chart Zoom: By turning on this feature, users can zoom into specific sections of the histogram for a more detailed examination of the data.
In addition to these appearance options, you can also set up actions for the chart under the "Actions" tab, as well as customize various aspects of the "Appearance" tab. The Histogram Chart is especially useful for statistical analysis, offering a clear visual representation of the data's distribution and variability.
